The Best Way to Find Guest Bloggers and Guest Blogging Opportunities
Guest blogging has become explosively popular in the year 2010. Not only do guest posts bring fresh, alternative perspectives but they also make life easier for the blog owner and build strong blogger-on-blogger relationships.
Finding guest posters and blogs to guest post on isn’t any easy task however. Sometimes the top blogs in the niche are unwilling to publish or even look at guest post requests or it may be very difficult to get your posts accepted because of the sheer volume of other guest posts the blog owner receives.
No doubt Cathy Stucker, the Idea Lady, had this in mind when she created Blogger LinkUp, a free service for bloggers to get connected for guest posts. With Blogger Link Up, you can:
- Request guest posts, specifying exactly what you are looking for down to the headline, needed by date and other options.
- Request sources for interviews and round-ups. Interviewing experts in your niche is a sure-fire way to get recognition and good publicity for your blog.
- Offer guest posts to bloggers, specifying exactly what your post is about.
- Offer products to bloggers for reviews. A bum marketing tactic that will assure blogosphere buzz for any products you might be looking to sell.
Once you have joined the Blogger LinkUp service, you will begin receiving daily emails from the service. Cathy begins each email with a hearty piece of advice or even a short personal note and then details the latest guest post opportunities. As of yet, I have connected with 4 guest bloggers through Cathy’s free service. That’s quite a large number when you consider that I’ve only made requests 2 times.
What are you waiting for? Link yourself up with Blogger LinkUp.

This looks to be a promising service and concept — especially when considering the win-win for all parties involved (blog owner gets fresh content, guest blogger gets good backlinks — ideally blog readers will enjoy what they’ve read & click through to the writers site — and of course, these in-content links should yield some SEO benefit at a keyword level. Trying to find guest blogging opportunities & then converting that into an actual placement of informative content is a very difficult, time consuming process — we’ll be watching this one.

I’ve recently started using BLU as well and have so far found three bloggers through the service. I just wish i found BLU sooner!
Guest blogging is definitely one of the best ways to build a diverse link portfolio. It should be a part of every marketer’s arsenal.
http://myblogguest.com/ is another good location to find get guest post or write on other blogs.
I agree that guest blogging is a very important part of building a great web presence. I think for those that are starting blogs it is a good idea to run a contest to try to get some great content on your site. My new blog site I started offering a contest that provides prizes to those that provide articles that become top rated articles. I strongly suggest other new blogs to try this concept as well as welcome guest bloggers to my new blog always. Thank you for that site! I will check it out!
