Advertise your blog/website on national television with Google TV Ads

Google TV Ads Logo Advertise your blog/website on national television with Google TV Ads I know what you’re thinking. Television advertisements are too expensive and require a lot of industry know-how: only the big boys advertise on television.

Not according to a report by Seth Stevenson of Slate who ran a television ad during The Glenn Beck Show on The Fox News Channel. The advertisement cost less than $1,500 and ran 7 times. With the advertisement, Stevenson was able to send 1,000 visitors to a test domain.

How was it all done?

With Google Television Ads, individuals can upload their home made commercials, select a time frame, network and maximum cost. All you need is a Google Adwords account. Via Google TV ads frontpage:

Google TV Ads is a flexible, all-digital system for buying more accountable and measurable TV advertising. Using the familiar AdWords interface, you can launch a TV advertising campaign in minutes.

Unfortunately direct website advertising via television ads tends to not be cost-effective. Viewers will very rarely remember the name of a website or immediately go to a computer and navigate to the advertised website while they are in the middle of watching a program.

Still, regardless of whether or not the cost effectiveness of advertising a blog or website on national television may be practical, Google has once again opened the door for Internet advertisers to explore new media fronts. Like in all new media fronts, only those with guts and creativity will succeed.

I donno about this Chris. Google ads and ppc stuff are always on the change. You can wake up in the morning and the see your site not listed anymore.
Tv ads can be very risky, but “Who Dares Wins”. So if your ad is successful and you hit the jackpot, everything is beautiful. If not, then it’s a waste of money.

    Take care.
