5 SEO Mistakes Every Blogger Should Avoid
Failure to Use Internal Links
Most new bloggers are not used to interlinking, but it is essential to include links to previous blogs in your posts. This not only helps you with SEO rankings, but it also helps you to control the Bonus rate of your website. Having a high number of links helps you gain a higher ranking with the search engines.
Title of Your Post
The title of your blog post is important and should include a keyword that will allow your post to achieve high rankings with the search engines. Avoid using very long titles but rather choose attractive titles that are no longer than 60-70 words.
Keywords are Essential
It is essential to include a keyword in the title of your post as well as throughout the remainder of the post. The optimum number of keywords is 2-3; this helps your blog with search engine rankings. You don’t want to overdo it with the keywords because the search engines will pick it up as spamming and might possibly delete your post.
Duplication of Content
One of the worst mistakes you can make is attempting to copy content from other blogs. Search engines are very sophisticated and can easily determine whether the content you post on your blog is unique. While duplicating content may certainly save you time in the writing process, it will not help you at all because the search engines will not index your blog for inclusion. In addition, visitors do not want to read the same content on several different web pages. In order to draw interest you must provide original and unique content.
Website Speed
The speed your website loads is another important factor in search engine rankings. In order to allow your website to load as quickly as possible avoid using too many java scripts, flash files or plugins. Not only does a page that loads slowly affect your search engine rankings, it will also affect the number of visitors to your page—people will not visit pages they know load slowly but will instead look for those that allow them to conduct their business quickly and efficiently.

Failure to post unique content is the biggest mistake made by a blogger
I agree with you. If a newbie blogger just writes a topic that has been overly saturated, then that’s not a unique content. It’s just a rewrite. A paraphrase.
“Avoid using very long titles but rather choose attractive titles that are no longer than 60-70 words.”
I think you meant 60-70 “characters”… right?
I often see duplicate content being a major factor in killing off an already established blog or preventing a brand new blog from succeeding.
While it may seem like a short cut, one has to look at the bigger picture (your blog in the long run). Duplicating content, usually done by content scrapping, is generally a bad tactic to use.
Also, not only do search engines see duplicate content easily, but most visitors can see it easily too.
Hey DeborahD good points to consider. Thanks for sharing some interesting facts about blogging. It will definitely help newbies who are new to blogging.
Thanks for sharing. Page speed is really important, especially when mobile devices become more popular. There is great addon for Firefox and Chrome called Page Speed, which determines pages speed and suggest what to do to make in lightweight. Worth trying. Thanks!
Point 6
….. Whenever you’re linking to a page on your own site, whether it’s from a blog post, your home page or a service page, make sure you have optimized your anchor text. If you have not then you have given that link no value and have basically just wasted your time…. =)
